I’ve contemplated several topics for my first ever blog and blog post. It’s harder to start blogging than I would have expected. Kudos and respect to all the other bloggers out there, I am impressed!

My blog focus may change as I go along. At this time I don’t plan to focus on one specific topic but vary it a bit as I post. This first post will be about earrings.

I love earrings! I especially enjoy fun, colorful, cute, creative, unique earrings. I’m not picky about where I find my earrings, some of my favorites I bought at Claire’s stores and others, I bought at secondhand stores. I own a pretty large number of earrings, I haven’t counted, but I would say something like around 100 pairs. Very few of them cost me more than $15 and most of them were under $5. In a later post, I’ll include some pictures of a few of my all-time favorite pairs.

I think one of the things that I enjoy so much about earrings is the variety and personality you can display. Is your outfit super professional, but you want to show that you have a fun side? Great, wear fun earrings. Want a little bit of color or bling to pop with your formal wear? Earrings are the perfect finish. Have you pretty much shifted to “dad” with socks and sandals? An earring or earrings can help you remind everyone that you’re still cool!

I actually have an Instagram page where I’ve shared several of my earrings. Look for it at @nonprofitearrings on Instagram. The catch is, I left my non-profit job a few months ago, so I’m working on coming up with a new name for the account. Stay tuned.
